Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum broadly categorises programmes and actions it implements to advance peace into 3 broad categories, namely; Prevent, Defuse, and Rebuild.
PREVENT ACTIONS
Prevent Actions are the types of actions or programmes that we design and deliver that are focused on monitoring the peace and security context, and timely addressing root factors and issues that could potentially spark conflict if unaddressed.
Our investments in Peace and Security related research over the years have also unearthed a number of common denominators that fuel different types of violent conflict hence informing the specific kinds of actions we undertake at the Prevent stage. Additionally, considering the cost of violent conflicts to human life, economies, and entire social systems, we believe that investing very heavily in conflict prevention is cheaper at all levels.
With your support, we can continue to expand our efforts in this area through designing, testing and scaling proven solutions that can help address the root causes of violent conflict, including violent extremism.

DEFUSE ACTIONS
Sometimes we may foresee that violent conflict may erupt in a particular community at the prevent stage, but fail to address it amicably then; other times we may even be caught off-guard when a violent conflict we didn’t anticipate erupts. Nevertheless, we still believe that with your support, we can take actions that help diffuse on-going conflicts, minimising the damage such conflicts can have on lives and property. Defuse Actions also help ensure violent conflicts don’t turn perennial.
You may support any of our Defuse focused actions and programs through the Conflict Emergency and Stabilisation Fund, Emergency Food Fund, School Supplies Fund, The Clothing Fund, and The Shelter Fund.
REBUILD ACTIONS
Rebuild focusses on programmes and actions designed to help rebuild communities, promote reconciliation, and mend broken community relationships in the aftermath of conflict. With your support, such actions ensure that wounds left behind by conflict are healed, and relations are mended, minimising the chances of resurgence of conflicts.
Donate to our REBUILD focused actions through the Fund for Victims of Torture, Fund for Survivors of Terrorism and Associated Families, or Fund for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Perpetrators of Violence.
